Telo Taitague has served in several key leadership positions including as a Senator in the 30th, 35th, 36th, and 37th Guam Legislatures, Deputy General Manager of the Guam Visitors Bureau, Director of the Bureau of Women’s Affairs, and Special Assistant to the Governor of Guam for External Affairs.
Telo Taitague served as Minority Leader during the 35th Guam Legislature and her legislative agenda centered on policies promoting public safety through technology, renewable energy, a new public hospital, and other issues that improve the quality of life for all Guamanians. Her focus during the 36th Guam Legislature included the responsible use of federal COVID-19 assistance, sustainable economic industries, perpetuation of our indigenous CHamoru language and culture, and affordable housing programs.
Telo Taitague is the Minority Whip in the 37th Guam Legislature and serves as Vice-Chairperson of the Committee on General Government Operations and Appropriations. Her agenda prioritizes fiscal discipline, transparency and accountability, and cost-of-living challenges.
Telo Taitague began a professional career as a musician and vocalist at the young age of 16, having worked in the tourism industry in Guam, Hawaii and the mainland U.S. for over 23 years. Telo Taitague would later use her passion for marketing and branding to build and expand her businesses which have been in operations for over 16 years.
A graduate of George Washington High School, Telo Taitague continued her education at the University of Guam and at Fayetteville Community College (Paralegal Studies) in North Carolina. She is a multi-skilled athlete as well as a former certified tennis instructor. In her free time, Senator Taitague enjoys a round of golf, but enjoys every moment she has with her dad – listening to stories of pre- and post-war Guam and the love they share for jazz music.
