The Philippines is set to celebrate its 126th Independence Day on June 12th.

A proclamation signing was held Friday at Adelup declaring June as Philippine Independence Month. 

Patrick Luces is the president of the Filipino Community of Guam. 

He shares the list of events happening on island this month, saying, "People in the Philippines and throughout the world are celebrating this special occasion. We also are celebrating the 70 years of the FCG as a no profit organization here in Guam. We did that through the spirit of camaraderie and carrying the binding spirit in helping our community. In Guam, we look forward to the celebration of 126th Philippine Independence and 70th Anniversary Ball. That will be Sunday, June 16 at the Dusit Thani. The Tagalog mass will be celebrated on Sunday, June 23 at 3pm the St. Anthony Church in Tamuning following by the wreath laying at Asan Park, and the celebration at Ypao Beach Park on Saturday, July 13. This will be a free event for our community with entertainment, food and fun. This year is unique as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of FCG, it will also lead to 80th celebration of our Liberation here in Guam. So we know that many of our family and visitors come to Guam.
