With the recent guilty verdict against former U.S. president Donald Trump on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in connection with a hush money payment to adult film actor Stormy Daniels near the end of the 2016 presidential campaign, the Republican Party of Guam issued a statement.

The party noted, "We live in a country of laws. What America was witness to in New York can be debated from Manhattan to Santa Rita." It went on to say, "That judicial process involving former U.S. president Donald J. Trump is ongoing  and all American communities, to include Guam, should respect that."

The statement concluded, The effort in New York courtrooms and the scores of others around the United States facing the former president on its face are political. The Republican Party of Guam continues to prepare for the 2024 Republican National Convention where our delegates to the convention will elect our nominee for president of the United States, carrying the support of the hundreds of party members from across our 19 district organizations in Guam.

"The courtroom will not replace the election booth on decisions to lead our country and our island.”
