GPA: Baseload units tripped leaving many in the dark

Residents were without electricity for a couple of hours overnight.

The Guam Power Authority confirmed its baseload unit at Piti 8 and at Yigo CT tripped offline causing multiple circuit outages.

It happened at 5:54 pm Wednesday.

The local power authority said its plant teams made their assessments.

Crews were able to turn the lights back on for customers around 8 pm.
