Delegate Moylan announces Congressional Art competition winner

Hannah Joy Abellera is a junior at Okkodo High School and was just announced as this year’s Congressional Art Competition winner.
“The Embracement of Guam’s Harmony” is the title of her winning piece in this prestigious competition that’s open to all high school students.
This year’s theme was “Exploring Guam” through artwork.
Following a selection process by a panel of esteemed judges, Abellera’s winning creation was chosen for first place and will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.
“I am thrilled to congratulate Hannah Joy Abellera on winning this year's Congressional Art Competition. Her artwork, 'The Embracement of Guam's Harmony,' truly captures the essence and spirit of Guam, showcasing her exceptional talent and creativity,” said Delegate Moylan.
The winning art piece "The Embracement of Guam's Harmony" will represent the talent and creativity of the students from Guam as it is displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year, allowing visitors from across the nation to appreciate the artistic skills and cultural richness of the island.
“I encourage all high school students to participate in the Congressional Art Competition next year. Art has the power to portray our local culture and heritage, and I look forward to seeing more remarkable entries that celebrate the beauty and diversity of Guam,” he added.
