CNMI lacks infrastructure for some military project needs

The Northern Mariana Islands can expect millions worth of military projects in the coming years, especially on Tinian.
However, the Commonwealth Bureau of Military Affairs says the islands could be losing out on millions due to the infrastructure capacity of the CNMI. In a recent presentation at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce economic forum, Special Assistant to the CNMI Governor for Military Affairs Daniel Aquino shared recently missed opportunities.
"Fluor Corporation was awarded $409 million to finish the divert projects," he explained. "From my understanding…they’re going to hire Turkish workers because they were informed that the CNMI does not have an adequate workforce. The other training that is happening here in the CNMI is Agile Reaper…they brought in over 1,000 cases of water from Hawaii. They were informed that the CNMI does not have an adequate water supply."
