The filing deadline for candidates has arrived.

More than 70 candidates have made the deadline.

Each hoping to fill a seat either as delegate, senator, mayor and vice mayor.

Guam Election Commission Maria Pangelinan says her staff will verify all packets and the commission will meet next Thursday, May 9th.

That's when candidates will draw where they will be placed on the ballot.

"At 6 pm, we will have the ballot placement drawing for the candidates. So wherever there is more than one candidate in the party then we will call them in the ballot placement drawing. We will start calling them on Monday to let them know they can start come in on Thursday at 6 o'clock," she said.

By 5 this evening, four candidates filed for delegate including former congressman Mike San Nicolas, incumbent James Moylan, Ginger Cruz, and Senator Amanda Shelton. Ken Leon Guerrero did not file by the deadline so this means Moylan will not be competing in the primary.

25 candidates filed for senator.

And 46 candidates for the mayoral and vice mayoral race.
