CNMI authorities battle wildfire on Wireless Ridge

CNMI authorities continue to battle a wildfire that began Tuesday afternoon at Wireless Ridge on Saipan.
The CNMI Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management says the initial report was made on April 2 at 3:21 PM about black smoke originating from the Wireless Ridge and the Dept. of Public Safety shooting range area. The CNMI Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services has been closely monitoring the wildfire since then.
The Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation advises all residents and visitors, especially those with asthma, chronic conditions, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, other pre-existing respiratory conditions, children, or pregnant people to minimize time outdoors and avoid being outdoors when smoke is visible or can be smelled.
This is a developing story.
