Former CNMI House Speaker Pedro Deleon Guerrero passes away

Former CNMI House Speaker Pedro R. Deleon Guerrero passed away.
CNMI Gov. Arnold Palacios announced his passing yesterday, describing the former lawmaker as a “ beloved member of our community whose legacy of public service and dedication will forever be remembered.”
He was speaker in the 6th and 7th legislature.
Palacios added, “His legacy of compassion and unwavering dedication to the CNMI will continue to inspire us all. Let us honor his memory by reflecting on his contributions and by striving to carry forward his vision of a better, brighter future for our islands.”
Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero said, “I am deeply saddened of Uncle Pete's passing. I have so much deep respect for him and will forever cherish my private meetings with him where he always provided his heartfelt guidance and views on issues of great importance to the CNMI.”
House Speaker Edmund Villagomez told KUAM News, “I would like to extend my prayers and condolences to the family of the late +Pedro R. Deleon Guerrero 'Paduna.' He was a dedicated public servant. Even when he was not in public office, he continued to help in any way he can as it relates to improving the CNMI. I had the opportunity to work with him when he worked for the late Vice Speaker +Felicidad T. Ogumoro. He was also like a mentor to me when I first ran for office. He will be greatly missed.”
