Suspect arrested in attempted car theft

Following a string of home invasions and burglaries, a Malojojo homeowner faced a similar incident.
Thirty-year-old Freta Lijabwe Mejbon is charged with burglary as a second-degree felony, criminal trespass, and resisting arrest as misdemeanors.
Court documents state the Malojojo resident was outside his home when Mejbon allegedly approached another member of the household, blurting out things that didn’t make sense.
After being told to leave, Mejbon left for a brief time before returning.
That’s when Mejbon allegedly entered the resident’s Toyota Corolla and began reversing out.
The Malojojo residents were able to open the passenger doors and take the key out of the ignition.
Mejbon then fled to a nearby residence.
Shortly after, GPD officers arrived and Mejbon allegedly returned once more, cursing at police and struggling with officers when being placed in restraints.
