Fuel overflow contained at A.B. Won Pat International Airport; public advised of gas odor

The recent fuel overflow at the A.B. Won Pat International Airport, Guam, has been effectively contained, prompting a public advisory for those in the vicinity. The visiting public and airport users are advised of a lingering strong gas odor around the Route 10A area and a section of the terminal parking apron situated on the cliffside.
John M. Quinata, Executive Manager of GIAA, reassured, “GIAA continues to work with our environmental consultants, fuel farm contractor, and other interested parties of this contained fuel overflow incident. We are fully committed to the safety and security of the traveling public, our tenants, and stakeholders of the airport as well as to our environment.”
Quinata added, “As the cleanup is near complete, we do not foresee any material impact to commercial passenger service at this time.”
