Bill signed extending energy credit program

Another round of relief on your power bills has been made official. Acting Governor Joshua Tenorio signed Bill 208 into law.
The measure implements a fifth round of the Prugraman Ayuda Para I Taotao-ta Energy Credit Program.
A $100 monthly credit will be added toward your bill with Guam Power Authority. This would cover the months of January, February and March of this year.
“Though the Energy Credit Program is among our more costly programs – this bill will bring total expenditures to over $110-million over the life of the program – it has also proven to be one of our most effective programs for extending benefits from our excess revenues to our entire community,” Acting Gov. Tenorio states in a letter transmitted to Spkr. Therese Terlaje. “Our Administration’s implementation of sound fiscal policies and practices has enabled us to stabilize our finances, eliminate our long-standing deficit, upgrade our bond rating, and ultimately, ensure that funding is available to appropriate for impactful measures like the Energy Credit Program.”
