Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Guam hosts exhibition on beliefs of Islam

This past weekend the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Guam hosted an exhibition, showcasing the beliefs, the practices and the principles of Islam. Imam Khaled Khan is the group's leader and happily shares the word with all, telling KUAM News, "Islam is a universal religion for all. If anyone wants to learn about it or practice it, they're always welcome to do so."
Many of the monotheistic ideals are those that locals more familiar with Christian beliefs will identify with. With a small but devoted community of Muslims locally, the imam also detailed the process one goes go through if and they want to become a follower.
Khan explained, "The Holy Scripture is the word of God. And it's a guidance for all mankind. One of the pillars of Islam is a declaration of faith...that there's no no God except Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger. And once you say that, then you are a Muslim. You have converted to Islam."
The center hopes to bring meaning to those seeking it, and a deeper sense of peace.
Numerous international translations of the Holy Qu'ran are also on display in the center, with the scripture available in, among other languages, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, in addition to Arabic.
Having been a Guamanian now for a year, Imam Khan says he's also networking with other faith leaders, getting a sense for the local community's diverse and deep connection to our beliefs, and being part of the interfaith mission to save souls and do good work.
"I've met few of the different faith leaders, but not all. I'm trying to reach out to different faith leaders, as well as just to first introduce who we are and what we do in the community," he shared.
