A man was caught on home video surveillance allegedly pushing a 3-year-old child’s highchair to the ground with the child in it could be getting a deal in the Superior Court.
A judge granted defendant Nathan Castro’s request for a deferred plea agreement, meaning the case could be expunged from his record.
The 42-year-old was charged with four counts of child abuse after the alleged abuse was reported to police more than a year ago.
Prosecutors allege Castro caused the child to fall to the ground before he forced the victim’s face to the couch and spanked them with a slipper.
Court documents state Castro has expressed love for the child and is willing to go to anger management counseling.
Judge Maria Cenzon ordered prosecutors to provide Castro with a deferred plea within 30 days.
