A 5.7 magnitude earthquake hit about 101 miles southwest of Malesso Sunday night.

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded the quake around 7:50 pm.

No major damages or injuries were reported.

According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is no tsunami threat to the Marianas from the earthquake. 

The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community that when an earthquake strikes, conduct the earthquake procedure, “Drop, Cover and Hold On” until the shaking stops.
