The mother and father charged in connection to the death of their one-year-old baby boy were back in court today.  Co-defendants Giltinan Ramangmou and Paul Cruz appeared before Superior Court Judge Vernon Perez.

Defense telling the court today they continue to wait for the child's DNA test results among other evidence.

Ramangmou declined comment following the hearing.

Attorney Peter Santos appeared on behalf of defendant Cruz, saying, "The case has been severed meaning its going to be two cases for the defendants. So because of the nature of the involvement of the two defendants, the mother's case is going to go first and then we wait to see what happens before we deal with the father."

It was last October, the child was found dead in their dededo home after suffering from battered  baby syndrome.

The couple is scheduled to appear back in court on February 9.
