A murder defendant accused in a killing in Sumai is scheduled to have his day in court this week. 

Defendant Jamie Nededog is set to go to trial on February 7. 

Nededog had rejected the prosecution's plea deal and maintains his innocence.  

He stands accused in the killing of Hagat resident Edwin Pirando.

As KUAM reported, Pirando’s body was found behind the Sumay Pub and Grill last October, badly beaten. 

To this day, a motive for the killing remains a mystery. 

Trial will be held before Judge Alberto Tolentino in superior court.
