A 14-year-old boy alleges he was raped twice while in custody at the Department of Youth Affairs (DYA) last year.
Authorities are now making an arrest.
Eighteen-year-old Gabereile Ferreira is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Court documents state the alleged incidents occurred between April and October of last year.
The victim allegedly told police Ferreira threatened him not to tell.
A second alleged suspect was also identified in court documents as Timo-Ju Daniel Palik.
No charges have been filed against Palik.
Prison records show Palik was charged separately last May in connection to a riot reported at DYA.
“We are cooperating fully with GPD on this ongoing criminal matter,” said DYA director Melanie Brennan.
He added, “GPD contacted us (Wednesday) that an arrest was made of a former resident. We were not aware as the victim did not disclose until after his release from DYA which resulted in this investigation.“
