The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam Weather Forecast Office is advising island residents of gusty winds and growing dry conditions.
A fire weather watch remains in effect from Friday through Tuesday for high winds up to 15 to 25 miles per hour. Any fires that may develop will likely spread rapidly and outdoor burning is not recommended.
High surf and high risk of rip current advisories are still in effect until Friday at 4 p.m. Inexperienced swimmers are advised to remain out of the water.
In the event of a rip current, DO NOT swim against the current and swim in the direction following the shoreline.
A small craft advisory is also in effect until Tuesday, 5 a.m.
The Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) remind the community to avoid hazardous surf and seas. Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water while the advisories are in effect. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags, and signs.
