A pair who admitted to smuggling four pounds of meth into Guam each got nine years in federal prison.

Francisco Herrera Salas and Joseph Mesa Babauta were sentenced before Senior Judge Alex Munson in the District Court of Guam today.

As KUAM reported, postal inspectors intercepted packages sent from Utah to three separate addresses on Guam when they found the drugs in December 2020.

Guam Customs and DEA agents saw Salas pick up the package from the Tamuning post office and followed him to Hagat before taking him into custody.

Both were also given three years’ supervised release.
