Public Health Director retires amid ongoing criminal case

Arthur San Agustin is no longer the Director at the Department of Public Health (DPHSS).
Adelup confirmed he retired and is now working directly with the Governor as a special assistant.
The shake up comes as San Agustin faces criminal charges in Superior Court of Guam.
He, along with Chief Health Inspector Tom Nadeau, appeared before Judge John Terlaje today but the now former Health Director declined comment outside of the courtroom.
San Agustin and Nadeau stand accused of allegedly signing off on certain school inspection reports for campuses that were never inspected.
Defense contends the pair are not guilty of any crime.
When asked today why the decision to bring San Agustin to Adelup with the existing criminal case pending, Governor's Communications Director Krystal Paco-San Agustin told KUAM, “We are just as confident in his innocence as we are his ability to be of great continued use to the people of Guam.”
Meantime, Adelup confirmed Peter John Camacho has been tapped to lead Public Health.
