A man who admitted to stealing from the Navy Exchange is spared jail time.

Exil Salandanan was sentenced to one year probation before Magistrate Judge Michael Bordallo in the District Court of Guam today.

He was also ordered to pay back the more than $1,600 in restitution to the military.

Salandanan has since pleaded guilty to theft of government property.

As KUAM reported, he admitted he stole video games and other electronics from the Navy Exchange of Naval Base Guam.
