A pair who admitted to smuggling four pounds of meth into Guam is each facing about ten years in federal prison.
Federal prosecutors recommended Francisco Herrera Salas serve 111 months after he admitted to charges of attempted possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine hydrochloride.
Prosecutors recommended 121 months for co-defendant Joseph Mesa Babauta.
The duo are scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 25 in the District Court of Guam.
As KUAM reported, postal inspectors intercepted packages sent from Utah to three separate addresses on Guam when they found the drugs in December 2020.
Guam Customs and DEA agents saw Salas pick up the package from the Tamuning post office and followed him to Hagat before taking him into custody.
It's also recommended both serve four years' supervised release.
