Several new bills have just been signed into law.

Senator Telo Taitague's bill aims to create a cost-of-living task force that would recommend yearly COLA adjustments based on actual economic conditions.

Sen. Sabina Perez' bill, mandates administrative review of procurement contracts of $5-million dollars or more that use Federal American Rescue Plan, or Infrastructure Investment Act monies.

Another Taitague bill that modifies the definition of "private pools," and exempts condos, townhouses and apartment buildings, along with single family homes, from having to have a lifeguard on duty at swimming pools.

Sen. Amanda Shelton's measure that extends the Guam Registered Apprenticeship Program for another five years.

Sen. Perez has two more bills in tow:

One that expands the authority of the insurance commissioner over how and when local insurance companies can pay "extraordinary" dividends or distributions to share holders.

And the other would establish new insurance adjuster licensing requirements.

Sen. Roy Quinata's bill is set to require defibrillators at all GovGuam offices by the end of next year.

And finally, Sen. Chris Barnett's bill to allow the use of body-worn cameras by police officers.
