Revolutionizing hospitality: find out how the Westin Resort Guam is incorporating technology to transform dining service!
Meet “Westie,” the Westin Club Lounge's newest employee.
The helpful robot is programmed to assist staff members with bussing tables during peak service.
The machine travels through the lounge on a specific mapped route, even making its way to the kitchen to deliver unclean dishes. It also has a hand that could access a designated elevator on its own.
And while this technology is a glimpse into the future, it does have limited functions, with its main goal to aid staff members.
Sarah Kim, a Guest Relations Agent at the Westin says the robot does just that.
“Because we have a certain number of staff, it’s just helpful to have something that helps speed things along. it’s pretty efficient; it helps us bus, and it is also kind of entertaining for guests to watch him at work,” Kim said.
The tech is on trial at the club lounge, with future plans to assist in other areas of the hotel in the future.
And while he is lovingly nicknamed “Westie” for now, the Westin Resort Guam is taking suggestions for a CHamoru name for the robot.
