Congressman Jim Moylan is seeking more ways to find money for major typhoon repairs, and has introduced a new bill, the “Typhoon Mawar Reconstruction Act.”

It would give the Federal Emergency Management Administration the authority to tap into non-traditional accounts and funding sources to provide for repairs at GMH and Guam's power system.

In a news release, Moylan said, "These are equally critical needs for both the island community as well as for the various military installations to be mission ready."

He met with both FEMA and Defense Department officials on creative ways to fund major storm damage at the hospital, electrical grid, and communications.

The measure has been referred to three house committees: Transportation and Infrastructure, Natural Resources, and Judiciary.
