The Northern Marianas College unveiled its Health Simulation Center on Saipan.

Les Ogumoro-Uludong, NMC Area Health Education Center director, said, "Within these walls, students will find themselves in a simulated hospital room that mirrors the real world."

It’s a dedicated space for healthcare professionals and students to practice their skills in a safe and controlled environment.

They will use virtual reality, cameras, and human patient simulators.

Erica Davis, the Hawaii AHEC Associate Director, said, "The impact of your support will be felt for years to come as it empowers the next generation of healthcare professionals who will serve the Marianas and beyond."

Nursing student Jesica Andebor is part of the next generation. She said, "I am very excited. It is new for us. It is going to be a great experience for us to experience real-life scenarios."

And it was her own real-life experience that motivated her to pursue nursing. She said, "Because my dad was really sick once and I saw how the nurses really helped him. So I want to be that helpful person to someone else."

It’s that high-quality care that educators hope to teach.

Nursing Department Chair Rosa Tudela said, "This facility will undoubtedly play an important role in the instruction of our nursing program and transform the way we train our future registered nurses."
