Moylan signs on to bill to provide GMH access to more federal funding

Congressman Jim Moylan is spearheading efforts to secure additional federal funding for the financially challenged Guam Memorial Hospital (GMH).

As a co-sponsor of the recently introduced Rural Health Care Facilities Revitalization Act, Moylan aims to provide remote hospitals, including GMH, with access to funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to ensure their long-term financial stability.

The proposed legislation, if passed, would empower health care facilities to obtain USDA loans or financial guarantees.

These funds can be utilized for various purposes, including refinancing debt, upgrading telehealth services, and acquiring essential medical equipment, among other crucial needs.

The Rural Health Care Facilities Revitalization Act, authored by Congresswoman and Physician Yadira Caraveo of Colorado, seeks to address the financial hurdles faced by hospitals like GMH.
