Defendant Bass to admit guilt in deadly stabbing

What will a superior court judge decide in the case against a man facing serious murder charges? Defendant John Richard Bass III is scheduled to appear back in court Monday to admit guilt.
Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena expects parties to answer concerns about the plea agreement, which would convict Bass of a lesser charge of manslaughter.
It was said at the previous hearing that the agreement also includes 20 years suspended from his prison sentence.
The hearing is set for Monday afternoon.
It was in 2021, Bass allegedly stabbed Virginia Laguana and injured a 19-year-old woman during an incident at Hotel Mai’ana in Tamuning. He was on the run for about 24 hours before being captured by police.
