In a recent development, the large generator that was stolen from a Government of Guam well station approximately a month ago has been located.

Guam Police confirmed the recovery of the generator along Chalan Palauan off Ysensong Road on Wednesday morning, less than half a mile from where it was reported stolen on Oct. 12th.

The Guam Power Authority (GPA) expressed significant concerns about the theft, emphasizing the generator's crucial role in providing backup power generation for a water well supplying residents in the Swamp Road and nearby areas.

Its absence posed a severe health and safety risk to the community, affecting their access to clean water.

Unfortunately, the recovered generator was found badly damaged. Police examined the unit for fingerprints at the GPA warehouse in Dededo. As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the search for the thieves is ongoing.

GPA General Manager John Benavente encourages the public to come forward with any information that could assist authorities in resolving this situation.

He emphasized the importance of community cooperation to ensure the safety and well-being of the island and bring closure to this crime.

As the investigation continues, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
