Guam Bar announces passing of attorney Jaimie Spivey

The Guam Bar Association announced they had lost one of their own.
Attorney James “Jaime” Spivey, who has been a practicing attorney on Guam since 2014, died last Wednesday.
In a letter from the Guam Bar Association sent to its members today, states, “Jamie will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to justice, the legal profession, and providing legal representation to those in need. He will also be remembered for his cordiality and professionalism. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jamie’s family, friends, and clients. We mourn his passing alongside them.”
Spivey was born in Charleston, South Carolina,
He earned a juris doctor degree from the University of Miami in 1989.
Spivey was also a military veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps in the 1980s as a first lieutenant.
He worked for the guam alternate public defender from 2014 to 2019 before moving to the Philippines to join his family.
Spivey returned to guam in 2022 after passing the guam bar exam and worked at a private practice.
