Murder trial for Nicholas Wayne Moore set to start Monday

The murder trial for defendant Nicholas Wayne Moore is set to begin Monday. 

Jury selection will start in the morning before Judge Alberto Tolentino in Superior Court. 

Moore stands accused in the 2020 disappearance and killing of Michael Castro. 

He faces charges of aggravated murder and murder, each with a special allegation of the use of a deadly weapon.

Moore and Troy Damian were both charged in the case. 

A police source alleged Damian had bragged that he and Moore killed Castro saying he shot at Castro during a car chase on Cross Island Road.

Prosecutors allege Moore also admitted to a police source that he murdered Castro by stabbing him with a combat knife.

Damian also allegedly admitted that he and Moore put Castro in a drum.

Castro's body was later found in a jungle area in Yigo. 

Damian has since pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of hindering apprehension, and could testify against Moore at trial. 

No word if Moore will take the stand. 

Jury selection begins at 9 a.m., Monday.
