Andrew Atoigue has stepped down as deputy director at the Department of Corrections. DOC Director Fred Bordallo Jr. confirms with KUAM News that his resignation was effective Sept. 9.

The Leon Guerrero-Tenorio administration announced management changes at five different agencies back in May including Atoigue. He had 24 years of law enforcement experience with the Guam Police Department and the Airport Police K9 unit before arriving at DOC.

Bordallo expresses his appreciation for Atoigue's service as deputy director for the DOC, adding, "he was instrumental for establishing a K9 unit in response to the challenges of promotion of prison contraband. My staff and I wish him good luck with his future plans ahead."

No replacement has been selected at this time.
