Shooting incident in Maite under investigation

On Saturday afternoon a man was taken to Naval Hospital Guam after being shot in Maite and the alleged suspect was apprehended.

According to Guam Police Department Spokesperson Officer Berlyn Savella, Central Precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting in front of Hi5 Logo Shop in Maite at around 3:20pm.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a conscious male victim lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound.

Guam Fire Department medics transported the victim to the hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

In speaking with witnesses on the scene, a man dressed in all black, believed to be armed, was reported to have walked through Wash & Dry Laundromat.
With the suspect’s description, officers were able to apprehend the alleged suspect who was in the area.
