Cop indicted in beach attack

Late Wednesday afternoon, the Guam Police Department officer who was arrested in connection to an attack reported at a Tumon beach Was indicted by a Superior Court of Guam grand jury.
Forty-three-year-old Peter Leon Guerrero was indicted on the charge of aggravated assault.
He is scheduled to answer to the charges on Sept. 20.
Leon Guerrero has since been released on a $5,000 bond.
Prosecutors contend he faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
Leon Guerrero was off-duty when he allegedly attacked another man at a Tumon beach on July 30.
That man has been identified as Fredrico Santiago who authorities allege got into a fight with the officer's relative, Jesse Leon Guerrero.
Both Santiago and Jesse Leon Guerrero were arrested as well.
