Yigo residents are the majority still without power

Island power is just a few percent shy from being fully restored.
The Guam Power Authority restored service to over 200 customers over the weekend, including the island’s only animal shelter who were left without power for over a month.
Guam Animals in Need Executive Director Alison Hadley.
"It really hindered our ability in our daily activities including in-taking animals, providing spay and neuter services to the public, as well as adopting out because all the animals got fostered out for the storm," she said. "Because without power we really can't do our jobs correctly. 00:32
The Yigo facility is grateful to finally see power restored on Saturday.
Today is their first day back to normal operations.
"Now that power is back on, we’re actually able to fully reopen Angina, allow animal control to go out and do their thing and mayors," Hadley said. "So we’re very happy have the lights back on."
But she says their phone lines are still down. She’s asking residents for their patience and to contact them through social media in the meantime.
While GAIN is among those glad to see power restored, several in the same village are still waiting for their turn.
Yigo Mayor’s Office Administrative Assistant Trinity-Naima Hufana.
"A lot of residents have been giving us calls from areas such as zero down, the Anao area, a lot of residents in the Chalan Badan Manita farm," she said There's actually a lot of isolated pocket areas throughout the village that are either without power or lacking the services to get to them with their weatherhead or whatnot. A lot of residents have been giving us calls wondering when will gpa get to them. All we can do is give them some sort of comfort and let them know that the crews are working as much as they can. At this point we don’t have any specific deadline as to when they will get to them or even a time frame to when they will be serviced."
She asks for their patience as GPA continues to work towards restoring a hundred percent of island power.
