Employees hosting Operation: Filled with Kindness at the former Harmon Branch Friday.
They handed out 1,500 reusable bags with the food items.
Chief Experience Officer Lesley Leon Guerrero says the effort was made possible through the help of local vendors and Mayors Jesse Alig, Robert Hofmann, and Melissa Savares.
“We've been giving back to the community in different ways through our fee waivers, through financial support to American Red Cross. But, our employees wanted to go out and shake the hands and touch our families,” she said. “We can't steal the credit of the Spam and rice idea. That came out of the collaboration between Mayor Jesse Alig and Mayor Robert Hofmann. We reached out to them to see where we can make the biggest impact, they said food because our people hungry. So, this is our response to what the need is in our community.”
Operation: filled with kindness continued on Saturday at the Bank of Guam in Hagatna.
The effort comes after the Bank of Guam donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross Typhoon Mawar Relief Fund.
