Cabinet member resigned before arrest

An update to the arrest of Hagåtña Restoration & Redevelopment Authority administrator, Adrian Cruz.

Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero's spokesperson Krystal Paco-San Agustin confirmed overnight that Cruz resigned from his leadership position. She says the resignation went into effect on June 6. 

She adds the administration doesn't have any information on his arrest or release. 

The governor also had no comment to the arrest of her former cabinet member. 

It was not long after stepping down, Guam Police Department officers arrested Cruz on suspicion of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and child abuse. 

The case, which includes allegations of inappropriate behavior involving a teenage boy, is said to be making its way to the attorney general's office. 

Cruz, who declined comment, has since been released from police custody. 

Adelup also has yet to announce his replacement.
