Arrests made amid island residents waiting hours in line for gas

People are lining up for hours even before gas stations open as lines extend miles away from the pump. The wait for some people have even gone to double-digits and tensions are rising.
One man even getting the police called on him at 76 Circle K Ypao in Tamuning after getting into an argument with employees.
Tamuning resident Allen Gay said he and his wife were in line for 15 hours on Sunday early morning waiting for the gas tanker that never came.
The Joint Information Center’s May 28th release listed 76 Ypao as open from 12pm to 10 pm.
Gay also said he called JIC to confirm prior to lining up.
But he was not able to get gas, instead told by managers “it’s a privilege to gas here so you can go on your way.”
He admitted he got overheated after watching employees vaping and joking around while customers were waiting in line for hours.
KUAM also spoke with 76 Vice President and Marketing and Store Operations Mike Hernandez who confirmed the incident.
“Over in Ypao, there was an incident where unfortunately customers were irate. the management tried to settle down the situation. Maybe a poor choice of words were used. and police were, for a lack of a better word, threatened to be called if they didn’t vacate the property as they were being aggressive, trying to make entry through the back door of the store. and after that, they left the store with no further incident,” he said.
Hernandez also commented on another incident at 76 Airport where a video circulated of a man put in handcuffs by police officers.
“There was confirmation that there was a person arrested at the airport [76 circle k]. I don't remember what agency it was but I want to say it was GPD. A person was arrested and returned later. He was able to get his fuel.”
