Following a morning windshield assessment tour of the island following the passage of Typhoon Mawar, which packed winds gusting as high as 140 MPH, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero declared Guam back in Condition of Readiness Level 4 (COR4) at 5pm on Thursday.

She said, "We now continue to focus our efforts on repairing infrastructure and restoring services to residents. After speaking with department leaders and seeing the incredible rapid response to the storm I am confident we will make significant progresses towards restoration of services."

Guam had been in COR1 since 1pm Tuesday in anticipation of Mawar's approach, which pummeled Guam and Rota with destructive winds and rain for nearly 6 hours, especially to northern villagers, as it passed near the Rota Channel.
