Guam is expected to be placed in Condition of Readiness 1 at 1 p.m., Tuesday.  

The Joint Information Center reports that during COR1, destructive winds are possible within the next 12 hours.

Once the island is in COR 1, the community is advised to remain indoors until COR 4 is announced.

As of 7 p.m., Typhoon Mawar was located about 290 miles south-southeast of Guam, and 375 miles south-southeast of Saipan, moving north-northwest at 7 mph, with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph.

Tropical storm force winds are expected on Guam as early as Tuesday afternoon, with the possibility of typhoon force winds of 81 - 110 mph by Wednesday morning. Heavy rainfall is likely to develop tonight through the next few days.
