Typhoon Mawar winds intensifying, maximum sustained winds now at 100 mph

Typhoon Mawar is intensifying with maximum sustained winds increasing to 100 mph.
A Typhoon Warning remains in effect for Guam and Rota, and damaging winds of 39 mph or more are expected within 24 hours, with typhoon-force winds expected by Wednesday morning.
Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Saipan and Tinian.
As of 1 p.m., the typhoon was located 340 miles southeast of Guam.
Mawar is expected to maintain this general course and speed over the next few days. The latest track forecast shows a westward bend in the vicinity of the Marianas with passage near or over Guam and Rota.
The Guam National Weather Service reports typhoon-force winds to extend outward from the center up to 40 miles, and tropical storm-force winds extend outward from the center up to 105 miles.
