After waiting two pay periods for it, Guam Department of Education employees will finally get their 22 percent pay increase.
GDOE was among the agencies that did not get the extra money after the increases were approved.
Acting Superintendent Judi Won Pat admits the raises will only cover the current Government of Guam pay period.
"We are awaiting a decision from the attorney general to be able to move forward, I know that several the senators had given us letters, telling us that we shouldn't be doing this until one of the documents are turned over to the legislature and to of course, the session on the retroactive pay fund for them, but not to worry, because it should-whatever they decide to be with to make them special one to cut the check was for retroactive for our employees," she said.
The administration previously said the raises should be retroactive to April 1.
GDOE employees should see the pay adjustments in their checks on May 26.
