Guam flag mistakenly raised upside down during peace officer

 At the start of the Police Week festivities, a video captured at the peace officers memorial ceremony in Hagatna Monday circulated on social media, raising concern.

The video showed the Guam flag being raised on the flagpole upside down and during the Guam Hymn

This position typically means a sign of distress. In this case - it was an error. 

Guam Police Department Chief told KUAM News "upon realizing the mistake the flag detail went back up to the flag pole, the ceremony was temporarily halted and the flag was lowered corrected then raised back up correctly."

The chief added, "the incident was unintentional and was immediately addressed."
