Man accused of attacking a mother and her children takes plea deal

A man accused of attacking a mother and her children is taking a deal from prosecutors. 

Jay Jay Tamngug was set to plead guilty before Judge Vernon Perez in superior court today. The hearing however was delayed until the defendant is well enough to appear before the judge in person. 

Tamngug was arrested in January 2022 after a woman allegedly told police he had been abusing her for at least six years. His accuser also alleged that he attacked her children, ages nine and three. Authorities reviewed surveillance video that captured Tamngug allegedly kicking one of the children. 

He faces charges of child abuse and family violence. Details of his plea agreement have not yet been made public.
