Help is still available for families struggling to pay rent and utilities. Cycle 6 of the Emergency Rental Assistance program is accepting new applications. About $30 million has already been distributed to 11-thousand families that continue to experience financial hardship as a result of the pandemic.

Department of Administration program manager Vickie Lindlau says the program ends in 2025 or until the federal funding is exhausted. "Our allocation for Guam is almost $29 million, is $28.9 million. and Treasury released forty percent of that for our initial payout for ERA 2 and required a threshold meeting of 75% of that in order to release some more funding," she said.

"In the last quarter we executed almost $7 million in assistance in just one quarter," she noted. "Yeah, it was huge."

Eligibility criteria and applications are available online at doa.guam.gov. You can also pick up and submit application hard copies at the DOA Emergency Rental Assistance on the 2nd Floor ITC Building in Tamuning.

You can also go to the GovGuam Relief Center on the 3rd floor of the Bank of Hawaii Building in Hagatna.
