The Rotaract Club of the Marianas and Island Girl Power hopes roadway adoption will inspire residents to keep the neighborhood clean.

The Rotaract Club of the Marianas unveiled the club’s roadway adoption with Kurason I Sengsong Island Girl Power Saturday in Dededo.

Located in Route 27 Santa Monica Boulevard, the club’s board of directors adopted the roadway with the focus on cleaning up on the roadsides, particularly that area as it’s one of the most traveled in the village.

“We felt it was really intentional to put the sign, saying that hey this is an area that is to be respected and taken care of and if nothing else, we’re (Rotaract Club), we’re going to make the commitment in doing that,” said President Krista Perrin.

The club also hopes that by bringing awareness to the trash issues in the area and their efforts to clean it regularly, it will inspire residents to want to walk around the area and help out in the clean up.

The club also plans to assist IGP in their efforts to develop the nature park as well as help the non-profit organization plant more indigenous plants and remove invasive ones.
