Guam Police Department officers were armed with rifles as they swept Saint Anthony Catholic School following a reported terroristic conduct complaint.

A staff member found a note that raised concerns for the safety of the students, staff and others at the school, including parents.

The school was locked down until the all-clear was given and students were let out early.

Authorities did not give specifics on the note.

This is the third threat of its kind made at the school in just over two weeks. It's causing concern for many on island, including Tamuning Vice Mayor Albert Toves.

"Whoever is doing this, give it up because they are hurting not only the outcome of the community and the school itself but also disrupting their lives. So just give it up and let people be," he said.

Since the campus was under first under threat late last month, the question remains - are investigators closer to finding out who is responsible?

Police and school administrators say authorities, including the FBI are actively looking into the threats - still unable to offer clear answers on who may be responsible.

Domonic Manibusan, the public relations coordinator for the school said students and staff have been able to calm their fears over the break.

“They feel safe and are glad to be back," he said.

That feeling of security that’s supported by G4S security on school grounds, coupled with teachers who are trained in active shooter and gun violence prevention.

“We do have professional developments every Friday here at Saint Anthony—so, we are using some of those Friday professional developments to getting the teachers the updated training," Manibusan said.

He also said the school took advantage of the week-long break, meeting with parents to gauge how they believe the school can improve in its response to violent threats.

“They wanted us to improve on a system that is more urgent," Manibusan said. "So, instead of the email form, which is what we use as our primary form of communication in events like that, only because it is how we can get to reach the mass of our parents base as quick as possible, so we are looking into forms of text message forms.”

The school also looking into how to enhance structural security.

“Our main concern right now, in regards to actual structural security, is, of course, more cameras that we want to add to our school campus—just to get a better view of every location," Manibusan said.

Though Manibusan said because the school is tuition-based, funds need to be raised for more cameras.

When asked if the school is ramping up policies to prevent social media usage while on campus, Manibusan said the school is sticking to its policy that requires students to turn in any devices that connect to the internet during instructional time.
