Franklin Taitague Jr. convicted in 2018 child rape case

A man accused of raping a little girl at a bus stop is found guilty.
Franklin Taitague Jr. was undergoing trial in the Superior Court of Guam.
A jury returned with the verdict this afternoon convicting him of criminal sexual conduct against a minor.
The incident happened back in July 2018.
The girl was only 10 when Taitague grabbed her by the arm, pulled her to a bus stop and raped her for at least 30 minutes.
The child eventually escaped.
Taitague will be sentenced at a later date.
Attorney General Doug Moylan issued a response to the verdict stating, “this new ag’s office is selecting a new breed of prosecutors with a mission to protect vulnerable children against sexual predators in order to make our community safe for us and especially our children.”
