A new corps is adding even more color to the Guam Green Growth Initiative. G3 is welcoming the latest addition to the initiative this week -- the Art Corps.

The group of eight are prominent artists on the island.

They will be lending their talents to drive the message of sustainability forward, creating murals.

Over the next four months, the Art Corps will host workshops on mural 101 and place-based art, resulting in 17 murals throughout the island.

All with themes inspired by sustainable development goals.

Dr. Austin Shelton is the director of the Center for Island Sustainability and UOG Sea Grant.

“Art is really important—because this is the way that we could connect to our community—to inspire, to awaken, to help our community discover new things, and to really care and be more passionate about what we have here on our island to offer,” he said.
